Community

As we respond to the Good News of Jesus we form community.  We believe that we respond together to God and that our individual journeys of discipleship are strengthened by life together in community.  God calls us to be Church not just individual Christians.

One of the hallmarks of contemporary society is the great sense of loneliness and alienation that many people feel.  We live physically close to others in cities but often don't know our neighbours' names.  We may form many friendships on various social networks but not actually meet up with the people whom we name as "friends" in electronic contexts.

Part of the Good News that we have received, and pass on, is that we are called to build a community - a community of love and compassion.  We build a community which is committed to seeking justice in our world and dealing justly with each other.

Whether we are meeting for worship, discussing a book or bible passage, going for a meal together or enjoying a film at the cinema, we are building community and helping to strengthen our faith and mission in God's world.
